What's New in Amity Social Cloud, August 2023
Welcome to the August product update of Amity Social Cloud! We're excited to announce some significant additions and enhancements this month.
Introducing Presence State
Show real-time user availability/status updates on Android and iOS SDKs (TS SDK coming soon). In our interconnected world, bridging digital interactions with physical presence, this enhancement is pivotal for effective communication.
Manage Payments Update
We’ve made some changes to our Portal UI! We’ve consolidated billing information and management of your payment method into one menu called "Manage Payment", under "Organization Settings".
Mentions in Sub-Channels
With this update, mentioning users in sub-channels (topic) now shows a mention indicator. You and other users can easily see when someone is mentioned, streamlining communication within sub-channels.
Soft Delete Post Update
Soft deleted posts on all platforms (API, Android SDK, iOS SDK, and TS SDK) will no longer be visible to other users. This update applies to all customers and takes immediate effect without requiring version updates.
Simplified User Removal in Amity Console
You can now exclude users from specific chat channels using Amity Console. Removing a banned user also clears their status, and admins can quickly re-add members via the "Add member" button to fix accidental removals.
Media 3 Player Support for Android
Our Android SDK now supports the 'Media 3' player, replacing 'ExoPlayer' as Google makes changes. Enjoy improved media playback. You can continue with ExoPlayer in the new version without disruption or switch to Media 3 for an upgraded experience.
