Pre-requisites
- Access to the third-party platform (Recommended OBS)
- Access to the Amity Social Cloud Console
- A valid stream ID (Will be generated from the console)
Steps
1. Log in to your Amity Social Cloud Console using the admin user accounts you created.
2. Click on the “Live Stream” tab located on the left side of the screen.
3. To create a new Live Stream object, click the “+” button located on the top right of the screen.
4. Enter the necessary details for your Livestream, including the Title, Description (optional), and Thumbnail (optional). Click “OK” to proceed to the next step.
5. Once your Livestream is created, click on the title to access the Livestream detail page.
6. Click the copy button to obtain the Server URL.
7. Open your preferred livestream software (e.g., OBS) that supports Custom Server URL.
8. In OBS, go to “Settings” and click on “Streams.” Paste the copied Server URL into the Server input. Ensure that the Service type is set to “Custom,” and leave the Stream Key empty. Click “OK” to save the settings.
9. Now, OBS and Amity are connected. Click “Start Streaming” in OBS to make the livestream live and available to viewers.
10. To create a live stream post and link it to your stream, return to the Stream detail page (Step 5). If you have already clicked “Start Streaming,” you will see the live badge showing up.
11. Scroll down to the bottom of the Stream details page and copy the “streamId”, this ID will be used to link the post.
12. Go to the “Posts” tab by clicking on “Posts” on the left side. Click the “+” button and select “Livestream Post.”
13. Choose “Community” as the Target Type. Paste the “streamId” (from Step 11) into the Stream ID input. Additionally, paste the “communityId” of the community where you want to stream into the Target ID input.
14. Press “OK” to create the post. You can now check your community to see your live stream post in action!
Note: To find your Community ID, follow these steps:
- Go to the “Community” tab;
- Click on “Community Management”;
- Select the desired Community by clicking on its name;
- In the Community detail section, you will find the Community ID, copy it for future reference.
