Hi and welcome to the Community Revolution podcast. My name is Ivana Istochka and I am the VP of Community at Amity. Communities aren’t just my job though, they are my passion and I am on a mission to empower anyone to successfully build their own and meaningfully bring people together.
I put together this trailer to tell you a bit about the show, why we started it and what you can expect.
So here is the thing, community is everywhere nowadays: everyone and their mother is part of one and people and companies all around the world are starting to build them. And the reason why is pretty simple: we are social animals and we love getting together.
In the last couple of decades, our ability to connect with others has exploded - anyone can find their people on their corner of the internet. But, even if we are more connected than ever, we have also become lonelier, more divided and more isolated. Just because we are connecting with others, it doesn’t mean that we are building authentic relationships, having meaningful conversations, or acting on our passions.
This needs to change and luckily it is starting to. Instead of aimless swiping and superficial online interactions, we are starting to put more value in purposeful connections within communities of people that share our interests, values, and passions. Our habits must evolve and we need to become more mindful of the time we spend online. What the world really needs is a community revolution.
It is proven that communities make our lives better and I believe that building them is more important than ever. Only by coming together, we can feel happier and healthier as individuals. And we can reimagine what’s possible, and take on the world’s biggest challenges.
So the goal of this show is to bring more conversations around the power of communities, share the stories and wisdom of people successfully building them and extract actionable advice to help anyone build their own. Join me as I interview some incredible community experts, creators and tech leaders and let’s learn and get inspired.
