Learning a new language is challenging and can oftentimes lack the support from others around. Given this reality, Promova wanted to create an environment around language learning where users could actually interact with each other and share advice and insights along their journeys. Therefore, the company wanted a solution that would also drive more engagement and guarantee that customers would make the most out of their language learning experiences.
Realizing this situation, Promova partnered with Amity by adding social features into their app so that members could be more engaged and entertained.
With Amity Social Cloud, the company integrated a newsfeed into their platform so that users could discuss the languages they are learning, problems they are facing, and successes they may have had while on their journeys. Learners could also use this area to improve their skills by practicing conversations with each other on different topics.
Finally, in the newsfeed, each member could like, comment, reply to comments, and share posts externally with others to attract them to the platform as well. By integrating this capability, Promova made it easier for people to improve their skills and get support from others who were facing the same challenge of learning a new language.
To really make sure that Promova was taking full advantage of Amity Social Cloud, the company chose to create communities on their platform. With these, learners could access a section entitled “Explore” and interact with two different community categories: Interest and Language Learning. For interest, topics such as “Catch that movie” or “What’s on the news” provided users with an opportunity to learn their language in a more informal context, using references from different types of media and day-to-day situations.
For Language Learning, teacher specific communities and others such as “Tips & Tricks” allowed learners to get the best opportunity to study their language while being supported by useful and engaging content. With these implementations, the company made sure that learners had all the tools available at their fingertips so that learning a new language could turn into a smoother and more enjoyable process.
Having just started developing their social capabilities, Promova is looking towards the future to be able to help students get the most out of their experience. Moving forward, other social features provided by Amity such as Videos and Chat will act as the main driving force behind Promova’s customer strategy.
