What's New in Amity Social Cloud, February 2024

Welcome to this month's update of Amity Social Cloud! We're excited to share the latest enhancements of Amity Social Cloud. These new features are all about making account management more intuitive and effective. Without further ado, let’s dive into the latest additions!

Announcement

Introducing a new Amity Console design

We've updated the console's design to align with the style of Amity Portal, making the transition between the Portal and Console more seamless. With a consistent UI across both platforms, navigation becomes simpler and the overall look is more user-friendly. We hope you enjoy the new look!

Product Enhancements

New query parameter for query community members

We're expanding the sorting options for query community member API! Beyond sorting by the timestamp of users joining the community, you can now sort the list based on a member's display name - offering more flexibility in rendering member lists on your UI. Please find more information here.

Improved search experience for community search

We’re enhancing our community search feature to offer an improved search experience! Previously, the search results were based on prefix matches. For instance, if you entered the keyword “Games”, only communities starting with the word “Games” would be displayed.

Our new search behavior will now show all communities containing the keyword. You no longer need to match the keyword with just the beginning of a community name. Building on the previous example, entering “Games” will now yield results like:

  • Cozy Games
  • Reviews: PC Games & Console
  • Games for Learning Languages

We hope that this enhancement will improve your overall search experience by providing more comprehensive and relevant results! Please note that this feature will initially roll out for Android, Typescript, and Flutter SDK. For the iOS SDK, you can expect access to this enhancement from the first week of April.

⚠️ FCM Migration

Starting June 01, 2024, Google will discontinue support for sending mobile push notifications via the legacy FCM v1 APIs. To avoid disruption to the notification service on your platform applications, we recommend planning and migrating them before this date. For guidance on migration, please refer to the documentation provided here.
