Site Reliability Engineer

About the Role: 

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for running the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.

Your Day to Day: 

  • Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives
  • Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
  •  Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
  •  Measure and optimize system performance to push our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovate to improve continually
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software applications
  • Conducting post-incident reviews and also incident reports for customers

Your experience includes: 

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on Linux administration experience, we use mostly Ubuntu
  • 3 + years of cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc., we use AWS)
  • 2 + years of IaC and configuration management experience, we use Terraform and Ansible
  • 2 + years CI/CD experience, we use Jenkins but are moving to GitLab CI
  • 1+ years Kubernetes experience, we use EKS
  • 1+years MongoDB experience, currently self-hosted 
  • Experience to run Node.js based applications
  • Good command of English (written and spoken)
  • Confident in giving training/workshops
  • Values good practices
  • SDLC knowledge is a plus
